Special Events

  • The Spring Easter Egg Hunt on the Village Green, hosted by the Village, takes place on the Saturday eight days before Easter Sunday.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony on the Village Green.
  • The July 4th Fireworks Celebration off the beach following a parade along Crandon Boulevard and a barbeque on the Village Green. The Village is an in-kind sponsor for the parade, organized each year by the 4th of July Parade Committee of local volunteers. The local Kiwanis chapter sponsors the barbeque. This special day wraps up with a fireworks display off the Atlantic beach at sunset sponsored by the Village.
  • The Fall Festival in late October celebrates all the great things about the autumn season. 
  • The Lighthouse Run starts and ends in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and winds its way through Village streets. This island tradition takes place on the 2nd Saturday in November, and is organized by the volunteer Lighthouse Run Committee. Runs of 5K and 10K are held as well as a 5K race walk. The Village is a co-sponsor with the state park and other organizations. View a video of the Key Biscayne 44th Annual Lighthouse Run.
  • Winterfest on the Village Green is held in early December and features music, performances by local groups, food, amusement rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, and a visit from Santa. The Village co-sponsors this two-day family event with the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce.
  • Winterfest Boat Parade at No Name Harbor in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is held in mid-December.
