She’s a well-established radio and television personality who is also a syndicated journalist, food consultant, and award-winning commentator. Linda has appeared on numerous national and international TV shows. She’s on a first-name basis with movers and shakers in culinary arena and she has tremendous following worldwide from fans who subscribe to her podcasts on social media platforms.

Food, News & Views seeks a qualified social media intern. 

 

This position works directly with Food News and Views (FNV) host and producer, Linda Gassenheimer (LG) to produce quality, engaging content and to assist in promotional efforts. 

The ideal candidate is organized, creative, an excellent communicator, and is interested in food, cooking, journalism, and social media.

 

Responsibilities

 

-Design images for posts + stories for Facebook Instagram and Twitter based on weekly program segments and guests, plus additional FNV promotional efforts as shared by LG

 

-Write copy for social media posts based on information shared by LG

 

-Schedule and post engaging and relevant content on all social platforms for existing audiences and to attract new followers

 

-LG sends images + copy to intern every Friday. Art designs + copy from intern are due for review/approval on Monday. Any necessary edits must be completed by end of day Monday. (Program airs every Wednesday, 11a – 12p EST).

 

-Research and apply methods to increase followers and engagement on all platforms

 

-Review insights and analytics to monitor audience engagement and determine effective content

 

Requirements

 

-Must be able to communicate and respond in a timely fashion regarding content, edits and posting

 

-Good knowledge and proficient use of Facebook, IG and Twitter. (If needed, some additional training on organizational use of social media may be provided).

 

-Learn about and understand FNV programming and audiences

 

-Organized and quick to learn

 

-Willing to ask questions and contribute ideas

 

-Ability to work independently and manage time wisely

 

-Excellent communication skills – able to hash out ideas/concepts and put them into words, copy; able to speak effectively

 

-Good writing skills

 

-Some form of basic design skills (Canva, photoshop, etc)

 

Hours & Compensation

 

-Unpaid internship

 

-School credit available

 

-One semester minimum commitment

 

-Telecommute mostly

 

-Flexible hours, but must be available, responsive and able to work on content Mondays and Fridays, 9a – 5p
