Don’t miss the first concert of the season with the Portland String Quartet. These “Maine treasures” are joined by Miami’s Paul Posnak to explore Beethoven‘s innovative “Quartet in A Major,” Brahms’ romantic “Piano Quartet in F Minor,” and “Five Folksongs in Counterpoint” by Florence Price, the first African-American female composer to have her work performed by a major American orchestra (Chicago Symphony Orchestra, in 1933).
