Nicolle Garcia’s introspective sonic landscape offers a journey into the depths of emotion and contemplation. Drawing inspiration from her Latin American folk roots, ambient influences, and jazz improvisation, Garcia, a Nicaraguan-American artist, invites listeners into a world of ethereal vocals, nylon-string guitars, percussion, and magical ambient sounds.
With her upcoming solo debut singles, ‘In The Quiet’ and ‘Alma en Paz,’ Garcia delves into themes of solitude, fantasy, and love. Through her music, she creates an atmosphere where time seems to slow down, encouraging listeners to release the frantic pace of everyday life and instead embrace the tranquil beauty found within the quietude of her compositions.
Her inclusion in the ‘Here and Now 2024 Cohort,’ commissioned by the Miami Light Project, marks a significant milestone in her career. ‘A Flower In the Swamp’ promises to be a transformative experience, weaving together music, visuals, and storytelling to explore the interconnectedness of nature, dreams, and ancestry. Collaborating with ‘‘Our Human Years,’‘ (Nicolle Garcia, Dion Kerr, and Tim Watson), the show, premiering on June 7th, 2024, is set to be a celebration of South Florida’s rich cultural tapestry.
As Nicolle Garcia’s musical narrative unfolds, her blend of influences and artistic expression promises a body of work filled with authenticity and depth for all who tune in.
