Hailing from Ponte Nova, Minas Gerais, Brazil, João Bosco de Freitas Mucci, widely recognized as João Bosco, is a beacon of Brazilian music. At 70, his dexterity on the guitar is akin to a force of nature—his fingers weaving two centuries of Brazilian rhythms into a tapestry of sound that spans the globe. Despite international acclaim, Bosco’s soul remains rooted in Brazil. His music—a masterful concoction of samba and bossa nova infused with rock, jazz, and a kaleidoscope of global influences—challenges and delights with its innovation.
